The mute button mystery at 2 a.m

A customer whispered for five minutes that our ‘hold music’ sounded judgy; turned out Spotify was autoplaying on their second monitor. I muted the rogue tab with them, resynced the order, and at 2:17 a.m. they said it was the first time a fix felt like a bedtime story — anyone else have a silly glitch turn into a satisfaction win?

Had a ‘judgy music’ ghost once — my go-to now is to have them hit the global pause media key; it’ll stop hidden Spotify/YouTube even on a second monitor. If that doesn’t nail it, I drop chrome://media-internals to pinpoint the tab and mute it — does your team use a quick key like that on calls?

When I hit phantom audio, I open the browser’s media controls (the little music note in Chrome) to pause/close the exact source without tab hunting; if it persists, the OS volume mixer usually reveals a rogue app on a different output. Curious if you’ve tried that — saved me from a few near-‘bedtime story’ moments.
